MINI & MAXI MARKETPLACE TOUR

MINI CIRCULAR ROUTE

The start and end point of this tour is the Kuchl Tourism Association, which is located in the town hall building. The first landmark is located right at the start – the bronze fountain by famous Kuchl artist and sculptor Josef Zenzmaier. Pass by the market cross and continue strolling through Kuchl marketplace and past its welcoming shops. In the middle of the market, there is the market fountain by Kuchl sculptor and painter Peter Schwaighofer, where you can also stop to quench your thirst. On the opposite side of the street, behind Kuchl primary school, you will see the impressive Kaiser linden tree, which was planted on the occasion of Kaiser Franz Joseph's silver wedding anniversary in 1879 and marks the way to the "Lower Market".

At the end of the market, right in the centre of the town, you will find the listed, late Gothic parish church. Go through the beautifully landscaped graveyard, past the Ölberg chapel and onto Severinplatz. Here you will find the Kuchl Museum, which is dedicated to the research of local history and features many important exhibits. Continue past the secondary school towards the sports ground to Kuchl's Bürgerausee. Take a romantic walk around the lake to discover the Kneipp therapy area, the tree trail and finally our adventure playground, which people come to visit from across the entire Tennengau region. A stop on the adjacent bridge over the Salzach reveals something rather unusual. This bridge caused major financial issues in the 19th century and was built partly from steel and partly from wood. A structure with no future. In 1960, the new bridge was completed and was named the "Friendship Bridge" From here, walk underneath the railway tracks and past the lovely kindergarten, which is where our circular route ends.

MAXI CIRCULAR ROUTE

The start and end point is the Kuchl Tourism Association. The first landmark is located right here – the bronze fountain by famous Kuchl artist and sculptor Josef Zenzmaier. At the market cross, follow the street heading towards Georgenberg. Walk past the various riding stables and at the end you will see an elevation in the middle of the flat valley. Now you have a choice between climbing up Georgenberg or going around if you want to shorten the route. If you do want to go up the mountain, use our hiking trails (not suitable for pushchairs) or the asphalted road that is suitable for pushchairs at the rear of the mountain. The ascent starts on the left next to the daughter church of St. Georg via a path or the road. Then stay left and go along the Roman road. Past the Severin linden tree, the path continues via the Kuchl Campus of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and the Holztechnikum, heading back towards the market. Here you will see the market fountain by Kuchl sculptor and painter Peter Schwaighofer.
