THE FÜRSTENHOF ORGANIC CHEESERY
The Fürstenhof organic cheesery sits amidst lush green meadows and stunning mountain scenery. A site that the former archiepiscopal princes from Salzburg valued as a place for rest and contemplation. Hence the "Fürsten" in Fürstenhof, meaning "prince" in German. Today, Jersey cows graze in the meadows around the farm, and their high-quality milk is processed to make delicious organic raw milk cheese. Niki Rettenbacher and his family produce over 30 excellent raw milk cheese varieties by hand.
You can also visit the delightful farm shop. Here you can find out more about and sample some of the delicious cheeses, as well as choose from the range of jams, chutneys, vinegars, oils, pastas, chocolates and even cosmetics.
